Comedy in theaters and Knesset. And the Peanut Butter Jar.

After some weeks of watching mostly drama and thriller movies, I was looking for a good comedy this weekend, just to relax from work, also from the political campaign in Spain (which has good points, for instance, as I'm following Spain's politicians I don't have time anymore to follow the candidates in the USA). The only movie I could find in theatres currently, a decent comedy (and I mean "decent" in the sense of "please don't play me another stupid American teen movie") was, of course, Juno. But this is Party for the Rights and Juno is not a comedy about homosexuality, eh? No problem, there's enough comedy worldwide. Would you believe, dear abominable readers, that YOU cause earthquakes "when putting your genitalia where they're not supposed to be put"? That's exactly the collegiate opinion of Schlomo Benizri, who declared in Israel's Knesset, this week, about the measures to be taken on Israel's readiness on earthquakes.

It must have been funny, a committee of lawmakers having experts stating about measures and all that blah blah, and then this guy comes up and says something like, "if you stop passing legislation on how to encourage homosexual activity in the state of Israel, which anyway brings about earthquakes", that's the best measure to be taken in order to prevent victims on earthquakes, and quakes themselves.

If one thinks carefully about the whole thing, it's obvious that religion, ultra-orthodox religion, is always behind such attacks. Those ultra-religious people, fanatics and fundamentalists, are quite similar to little children who aren't able to catch a good sleep without a good tale before switching the lights off. The problem, and I use "problem" here because they move towards creating a problem for us, the problem then, I say, is only that ultra-religious people do believe that their tale is true. Pastors, bishops and preachers in the USA oppose homosexual marriage saying "It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". Funny slogan, but it's not Adam and Eve unless you defend Creationism (which is lately labeled as Intelligent Design, as if it was some sort of Italian couch or a masterpiece of Rem Koolhaas). There was no Adam and there was no Eve, there is the Theory of Evolution and that's science. And some people will still go dreaming of Peanut Butter Jars after being read the Bible Fairy Tale before going to sleep.

Azis and The Muscle Bears: The Videoclip

From a little browsing on the Internet one comes up with surprises as this one. Maybe this is not really your style of music but you can still watch the clip. And I'm not sorry at all for posting in Party for the Rights, there's no dick and ass, no explicit sex... all left to your imagination.

And now a bit of background information on Azis. From its Fan Club at GayRomeo:

Azis was born as Vasil Troyanov Boyanov on March 7th 1978. He is a Bulgarian Romani chalga singer (pop-folk / turbofolk) known for - among other things - his atypical sexual / transgender expression and his flamboyant persona.
Azis performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 for Bulgaria with the song "Let Me Cry" alongside Mariana Popova.
His discography includes: "Celuvai Me" (2003), "Na Golo" (2003), "Kraliat" (2004), "Together" with Desi Slava (2004), and "2005" (2005). Azis has recorded and performed many songs with some of the most popular Bulgarian pop-folk singers, like Desislava, Gloria, Malina, Sofi Marinova, Toni Storaro, the Serbian singer Marta Savic and also the rap performer Ustata.
He began his political career in 2005 as a member of the EuroRoma political party and ran in the general elections campaign in the summer of 2005.
On October 1st 2006, Azis married his husband Niki Kitaetsa. Still their marriage is not legally recognized given the laws of Bulgaria.
In the 2006 TV programme "Velikite Balgari" (the Bulgarian version of the 2002 Greatest Britons from BBC), Azis was elected as the 21st greatest Bulgarian of all time (and was in fact the second ranking living person on the list, after football player Hristo Stoichkov, who was 12th).
Azis appeared on the VIP Brother 2 version of Big Brother Bulgaria alongside his husband Niki Kitaetsa. Azis left the house voluntarily after nineteen days.
On 05 August 2007 Azis became a father. His newborn daughter is named Raya. Raya was conceived via artificial insemination; the baby's mother is Azis' life-long friend Gala.

More Anti-Gay Speech. Phelps and Blair.

Aha! It was time to get it announced, how not. So Fred Phelps is going to "stage protests at funerals of victims of the 35W bridge collapse to state that God made the bridge fall because he hates America, and especially Minnesota, because of its tolerance of homosexuality." Couldn't be no other. Ask our mates at Good As You about the Phelpesses of this world, they have the theory that such a family name could have something to do with the bearer's gay hate (Thank you for the blog, and all the Youtube videos), and they look like real experts in such phenomena (note, with "ph" like "phelps").

And miles southwards, on the Caribbean Jamaica, Bishop Herro Blair warns politicians to not be permissive at all with abortion and homosexuality: "To legalise the murder of an unborn child and to legalise same-sex marriage - it is not here yet - but it is a slap in the face to the Almighty God." Since I didn't attend the meeting, I can't affirm that he didn't do similar remarks on political corruption, religious hypocrisy, heterosexual pederastia, wars for oil, unemployment, hate crimes and all those not-so-important aspects of island and continental life.

Straight Commentary on the "Down Low" lifestyle

Hi Juan, thanks for the invitation to post. I have a small contribution i think your readers may find interesting.

I received an interesting youtube video in my email recently. It was a short documentary/discussion by straight black Americans about DL/Gay/Lesbian Americans. In it they talk about what they like or don't like about the choices made by the DL community, and how they should be treated. While i may not agree fully with the content of the discussion i see the fact that the discussion is occurring and questions are being asked as a vital first step. For this reason, i encourage everyone to share this video, consider its content and spread the discussion.
